"Our Springtime"

Each day, the past week and a half, I have been reminded of how much I love spring and warm, sunny days. I know if we make a move from the sunny south to sleepy Seattle, I won't experience this kind of weather as much, but I am hoping at least some. Anyways, my soul was revived and for a week we did nothing but hang out together over spring break. We thought about going somewhere, but the thought of packing, unpacking and driving with 3 banshee's did not sound like relaxation or serenity. So we stayed home and enjoyed Lego's, Pet Shops, parks around town with friends, afternoons on scooters and good books. We soaked up the sun and moments together. It was rest. It was good.

Spring reminds me of growth, of newness, it is my favorite season, how can it not be?! Spring brings green to the tree's, blue skies, and a freshness that fills your soul as the cold and winter days turn warm and sunny. We watch as our apple tree is transformed and produces fruit. It reminds me of our life..."our springtime" now. We have experienced the "winter" in our little family in different ways through-out the years and we've held on and held fast to God during those times knowing His promises were good and true, and when "our springtime" did roll around again, it made it that much sweeter.

So we breathe in His goodness in the world around us. We thank Him for warm days, for green leaves, flowers and the apples that are coming. It is easy to see He is good outwardly and inwardly during "our springtime". We all seem to feel Him in the depths of our souls. No one seems dragged down by life, nothing has changed, it hasn't gotten easier, but He is refining and molding us into new creations. We will again face the barren, cold valley's of life as they may come and we pray we hold on. Whatever our journey may be, we pray we look back at the time we felt the "Springtime" in our souls and we trust it will come again... no doubt it will, as long as we hold onto to Him and know He is holding us.

Psalm 29:1-11 "The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace!" Amen.
