Christ Fellowship Church Preview Sunday Update

It all went so well and the place was packed out. Someone said, "well, the space worked as long as no one new comes" Bart did an excellent job at preaching such a great sermon and it was yet another confirmation that this is where the Lord has led us to be.

It felt so wonderful to be back in a small community, worshipping together.

Don't you love the kettlebells in the pic? The space was just perfect. I think CJ said 150 people were there. Pretty amazing.

Christ Fellowship Church Preview Sunday

 God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.
1 Corinthians 1:9

Yes he is. Last spring we were ready to do what God wanted us to do and our thinking was that might be a move to Seattle. We had been in training with the core team who almost all found jobs, sold houses and made the move across the country to a foreign place. We were ready and willing to do the same. We even made the trip out there to see where we would potentially live and went to a week's training on church planting. It was a fruitful and hopeful time.
Well, God had other plans. Our little church and core group have settled their families out in Seattle and their church begins tomorrow to meet weekly. How ironic that God chose to move us just 2 miles away from our previous home to the sweet community we reside in now, brought us together with our small group and a church plant was formed in our backyard which again ironically has its first Preview Sunday tomorrow. We have been thrilled to be a part of it and God planted the desire in our hearts to plant a church which is finally happening. We will be having a Preview Sunday at Christ Fellowship Church (Homewood Church Plant)

Christ Fellowship Church

This will be my new church home :).

 Our core team met last night and the name was announced....Christ (because it is in Him and through Him we have our being; He is the center of it all) and Fellowship (because that is what we will be doing :)). We will be meeting at the new IronTribe gym , downtown location...I think it is off of 3rd and 4th Ave. The owners of Irontribe are part of the core team and they have graciously offered their new space. We are having a get together/party/fellowship for the Super Bowl there on Sunday Feb 5th at 5:00, so please do come if you are interested. The next Sunday, Feb 12th at 10:30 we will have a preview gathering at IronTribe as well. Again, all are welcome to come!

Please pray that God will strengthen our core team, and Bart and Leslie Box (our pastor and his wife),  and that the adversary would flee from our presence. Obviously 2012 looks to be an already exciting, but busy year.
